Pakistan Has Won The First of Three ODIs against New Zealand

The first ODI of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand is played in Karachi today. Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first match

Toss:

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Fakhar Zaman made his comeback for the national team after his injury. Haris Sohail made his comeback to the team. Usama Mir made his debut. Henry Shipley made his debut from the Kiwi side.

New Zealand’s batting:

New Zealand didn’t start well with the bat. Devon Conway lost his wicket in the very first over. He got out for a duck on Naseem Shah’s bowl. Kane Williamson joined Finn Allen in the middle. Finn got out for 29 runs off 27 balls. Kane got out after scoring 26 runs. Usama Mir bowled a beauty to dismiss Kane. Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham built up a partnership of over 50 runs but Muhammad Nawaz dismissed Daryl Mitchell for 36. Tom Latham got out after scoring 42 runs. Glenn Phillips and Micheal Bracewell put up a partnership of 66 runs. Glenn Phillips got out after scoring 37 runs. Micheal Bracewell got out After scoring 43 runs. Shipley got out without scoring any runs. Mitchell Santner got out after scoring 21 runs. Tim Southee remained not out on 15 and Ferguson remained not out on 1 run.

New Zealand managed to score 255 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Pakistan’s Bowling:

Pakistani bowlers bowled very well today. Naseem Shah got a five-wicket haul today. This was his 2nd ODI fifer. He has now got the most wickets by any bowler after their first 4 ODIs. He’s got 15 wickets in 4 ODI matches.

Usama Mir took 2 wickets. Wasim Jnr. and Nawaz got 1 wicket each.

Pakistan’s Batting:

Pakistan came out to chase 256 runs and lost the 1st wicket of Imam ul Haq early. He got out after scoring 11 runs. Babar Azam joined Fakhar Zaman in the middle and built up a good partnership of 78 runs. Fakhar Zaman scored a fifty on his return to the national team. Fakhar got out after scoring 56 runs. Rizwan joined Babar on the crease after Fakhar’s dismissal and both of them scored 60 runs together in a strong partnership. Babar got out after scoring 66 runs. Haris Sohail then joined Rizwan in the middle. They built up a partnership of 64 runs. Haris got out after scoring 32 runs. After Haris’s dismissal, Salman Ali Agha came out and finished the match with a six. Pakistan won the match by 6 wickets with 11 balls remaining. Rizwan and Agha remained not out on 77 and 13 runs respectively.

New Zealand’s Bowling:

New Zealand couldn’t do anything extraordinary with the bowl. Micheal Bracewell took 2 wickets. Tim Southee and Glenn Phillips got 1 wicket each.

Naseem Shah was awarded as the man of the match because of his brilliant bowling performance.

Pakistan is leading the 3-match series by 1-0. 2nd ODI will take place on Wednesday.
