Mission Majnu, Nothing But A Bad Joke - 7C Report

Mission Majnu, Nothing But A Bad Joke

Netflix released the trailer for Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming propaganda-based movie Mission Majnu a few days back. Netizens have termed Mission Majnu, Nothing But A Bad Joke.

Story:

In this cringe movie, Sidharth plays the role of an Indian Spy that comes to Pakistan on an undercover mission to investigate Pakistan’s involvement in creating nuclear weapons, where he has to balance his professional and personal life with his blind girlfriend Nasreen.

Laughing Material:

This movie became laughing material for the netizens as soon as the trailer came out. People labeled this movie as a propaganda tool. The typical portrayal of Pakistani Muslims became meme material for the netizens.

Adaab:

In Pakistan, you do not see people use Adaab to greet. But somehow every Indian filmmaker is stuck on this word. Some netizens even said that it is very easy for Pakistan’s Intelligence Agencies to catch an Indian Spy. If you see anyone say Adaab in Pakistan, just arrest him. Because only Indian spies say Adaab in Pakistan.

The portrayal of Pakistani Muslims:

Indian movies always portray Pakistani Muslims in a very typical way. A Pakistani Muslim in an Indian movie always has a cap on his head, kohl in his eyes, an amulet around his neck, and says Adaab, Janab, and Bhai Jaan, in every sentence.

Some Facts:

Pakistan became a nuclear power in 1998. Pakistan is a bigger nuclear power than India as Pakistan has more nuclear weapons than India. India couldn’t stop Pakistan from becoming a nuclear power. Then what is the purpose of this movie? Also, no one says Adaab, Janab, and Bhai Jaan in every sentence in Pakistan. India hasn’t been able to locate Pakistan’s nuclear sites till today. This movie is based on nothing but fiction.

Reaction:

Netizens have termed this movie as laughing material. Some even called it cringy propaganda. Most of them just made fun of it. No one except its makers is taking it seriously. The main reason behind such a reaction is that this movie has nothing to do with the truth. It is completely based on fiction.
