Imran Khan’s Surprise:
Chairman PTI Imran Khan took everyone by surprise when he decided on Wednesday that Parvez Elahi will take the vote of confidence from the Punjab Assembly later on the same night.
All the PTI and PMLQ MPAs along with the senior leaders of PTI including, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry gathered in Punjab Assembly.
PTI MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal and Raja Basharat submitted the resolution for the voting.
PMLN’s Tactics:
On the other hand, the PMLN leaders were in shock. For them, it was completely unexpected. They tried their best to force the Speaker to adjourn the session of PA.
They pointed out the quorum and gathered before the speaker’s dice. The speaker said that the quorum is complete and the government lawmakers are in majority. The speaker also offered the opposition MPAs to recount the number of lawmakers present in the assembly hall.
Speaker’s Verdict:
Speaker Sibtain Khan refused to adjourn the session saying that the opposition MPAs should refrain from dictating to him.
There was another interesting move when the session was adjourned till Thursday at 12:05 AM.
After the submission of the resolution, the Punjab Assembly secretary announced the rules of procedure for the voting.
Voting:
The voting finally took place and CM Punjab Parvez Elahi got the vote of confidence from 186 members of the Punjab Assembly. Speaker Sibtain Khan announced the result.
Post VOC:
After winning the vote of confidence from the PA, CM thanked all the MPAs of PMLQ, PTI, and the independent MPA.
The Walkout:
PMLN walked out of the PA when they saw that the defeat was inevitable. They tried every possible move to make Speaker adjourn the session but couldn’t succeed.
